About Boodles

We started Boodles Dog treats in 2018 as we wanted to feed our Evie (Boodles) the very best in 100% Natural treats and chews.

We knew natural treats were great for sensitive stomachs and held many amazing health benefits, but the more we looked into these treats and chews the more we realised the majority were sourced out of China and India, where animal welfare was poor. We wanted to be able to feel confident that the chews we bought were sustainably sourced and from animal welfare and human grade approved farms. All our suppliers are based either in the UK, or EU and have animal welfare as a priority. We quality check all stock, hand pick and pack into Boodles biodegradable and compostable pouches in our UK unit. We are dedicated to reduce all our packaging waste and hope to help our customers reduce theirs.

Some FAQ's

What are the benefits of air-dried dog treats

Air-dried dog treats retain the natural nutrients and flavors of the animal products without the need for artificial preservatives, additives, or high heat processing. The gentle air-drying process removes moisture, helping to preserve the treat while maintaining the protein, vitamins, and minerals your dog needs. These treats are also great for supporting dental health as they encourage chewing, which can reduce plaque and tartar buildup. Plus, because they are minimally processed, they’re easily digestible and ideal for dogs with sensitive stomachs.

Are natural dog treats suitable for all breeds?

Yes! Our natural air-dried treats are suitable for dogs of all breeds and sizes. However, it's always a good idea to choose a treat that matches your dog’s size and chewing ability. For smaller dogs, we recommend breaking larger pieces into smaller, more manageable bites. Always supervise your dog while they're enjoying a treat, and provide fresh water to keep them hydrated.

How should I store air-dried dog treats?

Our air-dried dog treats should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to maintain their freshness. It's best to keep them in an airtight container or resealable bag after opening to prevent moisture from affecting their texture. When stored properly, our treats have a long shelf life without the need for artificial preservatives, but we recommend using them within the suggested time frame for optimal freshness.

Can natural dog treats help with dental health?

Yes, natural dog treats can contribute to maintaining good dental health. Chewing on crunchy treats helps remove plaque and tartar buildup, promoting healthier teeth and gums.

Are air-dried treats good for dogs with allergies?

Yes, many dogs with allergies or food sensitivities do well with air-dried treats, especially those made from single animal proteins like our products. Since our treats are free from common allergens such as wheat, corn, soy, and artificial additives, they are a great option for dogs on a limited ingredient or hypoallergenic diet. However, if your dog has specific allergies, it’s always a good idea to check with your vet to make sure the treats are safe for them

How often should I give my dog natural treats?

The frequency of giving your dog natural treats depends on their overall diet and individual needs. It's important to provide a balanced diet.

The 10% rule is a good rule to follow when treating your dog. The 10% rule means your dog's treats per day allowance should take up no more than 10% of their daily calorie intake.

You can give your dog chews daily or every other day and you should give some hard, dental chews at least twice a week so that any tartar can be removed and the jaws and gums get some good exercise.

Are there any specific ingredients I should avoid in natural dog treats?

When choosing natural dog treats, there are some ingredients to avoid. While our treats are 100% natural and free from harmful additives, here are some ingredients commonly found in other treats that you should steer clear of:

  1. Artificial Preservatives and Additives: Chemicals like BHA, BHT, or artificial flavourings are often used in commercial treats. These are unnecessary and potentially harmful to your dog’s health.

  2. Xylitol: This sweetener is extremely toxic to dogs and is sometimes found in processed dog treats or snacks designed for humans.

  3. Fillers like Corn, Soy, or Wheat: Many mass-produced treats include cheap fillers that provide little nutritional value and can cause allergies or digestive issues in some dogs.

  4. Glycerin or Sugar: These are often added to make treats more palatable or extend shelf life but can lead to weight gain or dental problems.

Our air-dried treats are chews are all 100% free from these harmful ingredients Boodles ensure your dog gets a natural, nutrient-rich snack with no hidden chemicals, fillers, or artificial components.
